ACT Government opts for TechnologyOne's citizen-centric software to transform development applications

The Australian Capital Territory Government and local provider TechnologyOne have partnered to implement its Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) enabled solution to deliver greater control and confidence in the development application and other planning processes for industry and citizens.

The new application system will deploy TechnologyOne’s software to replace the current eDevelopment system. This will make the application processes faster and enable users to view progress from initial lodgement through to verification and determination.

In order to keep up with community expectations and the government’s plans for growth, the Territory sought a modern, flexible SaaS system to provide an intuitive user experience and ensure transparency through the life of an application.

The contract builds on TechnologyOne’s 36 years of experience in the ACT and its unique experience providing business systems to both governments and local governments across Australia.

Independent research commissioned by TechnologyOne in 2021, based on measured, real-world experience in 68 Australian organisations across the public sector, estimated potential savings for Australian Governments of $62 billion over 10 years from a transition to modern software solutions over a three-year period.

In addition to reduced cost of ownership, the research demonstrated productivity gains and operational savings from greater visibility and control over departmental finances, supported by real-world examples of government customers.
